Tonight Sarah B. and Landon are coming at you LIVE from Puerto Rico! We are here with the scoop with what’s hot in Puerto Rico. First off, it rained which actually made it not as hot....but still hot. Today we had a team of eight individuals continuing to make cement and pour it in into the wall.
Mary and Breanne had the honor of unveiling the wall that had dried already. Landon only cried a little when he saw a few holes in the wall Sarah B. took care of that quickly. By took care of, we mean she pretended to need water and then used his own water bottle against him. Pretty cynical, I know.
Papa Shaw, Karen (Her foot has healed and she is now off the drugas), and Sarah F. worked all day with cement grinders to level a floor that is going to be used by the camp on Friday. Papa Shaw and Landon worked straight until dinner to finish the job.
Being that it is Wednesday, we are all exhausted from the last two days of work. Most of us did not know if we were going to make it through the painstakingly difficult work. This is why we were so grateful for the overcast skies and rain showers. Some teams worked increasingly well. There were even some instances of people timing how fast they could pour cement (2 minutes 30 seconds was the record). Even though our team was feeling pooped, they still showed great teamwork and enthusiasm to the final tasks of the day.
While the rest of the team cleaned up and headed out to the barrio, Landon and Papa Shaw stayed behind to finish leveling the floor. The team stopped for frappes and did not forget about our two worker bees. When we brought the frappes back to them they acted like 10 year old boys on Christmas morning and worked one handed for a while. After dropping off the frappes, the team enjoyed time with the children in the barrio. By the time we all returned for dinner, Papa Shaw and Landon had finished leveling the floor completely!!!! Rejoice!
Tonight we enjoyed brownies and telephone pictionary with the Marshall family. Tomorrow, we will awake at 6:30am (ironically our day off -_-) and get ready to depart for an adventure to the Puerto Rican rain forest.
And in other news, Ty had a mini heart attack after Julio, a camp counselor, walked in on him and Landon trying to sneak food out of the kitchen. Ty is still with us but somewhat traumatized by the experience.
Thanks for tuning in! This is Sarah B. and Landon signing off!!!! Hasta!
Ps. Hi MOM!!!!!!!! (From Landon)
