Alrighty. It was a pretty good day, once again, here in Puerto Rico. After running around the island sightseeing all day yesterday, we all had to get back to work today. Everyone stayed at the camp for work, which split everyone into three groups. With our time coming to a close soon here in Puerto Rico, we are able to see all of the projects that we started at the beginning of the week all come together. One group was able to finish staining all of the rafters in the Capilla (Which apparently is spanish for “Chapel”).
Another group has pretty much finished making the tables that will be used by thousands of little Puerto Rican kids during the summer and also the other work crews that are planning to come help out around the camp after us.
(For now, we'll test them out-pretty awesome looking!)
The third group was able to finish up the electrical in the kitchen except for one small part and then went to help the other groups with their projects.
After work had been done, we all were given some downtime and then we were off to a youth group in the Barrio, which was a great experience to see another aspect of the life that the people have down here. It has been great being down here in Puerto Rico with these people. We have a great group people with us. Everyone is hard working and are able to love God while doing so. Unfortunately tomorrow is our last full day here and then it is back to School. All of our projects that we have been working on should be finished by then. Once again, thank you everyone who helped us all get down here so that we could help out Jon Marshall in all the hard work that he does for the good people of Puerto Rico. Go Blue and peace out.

P.s. Don’t try to have a sea anemone stick to your face. It burns for a while afterwards and leaves a red mark on your face. Don’t ask me how I know this, I just do.
I am late on commenting for your week but have been so blessed by your posts and ongoing mission at CDC! Thanks for fighting the good fight and working hard this last week (and congrats on the multiple references to sunscreen...this PR Spring Break trip alum is proud of you!) I continue to pray for you all as your mission comes to an end. The physical labor is all but done but there is still much to go on in each of you as well as the hearts and lives of those you've touched in ways big and small.

It is exciting to hear about all the work you guys are accomplishing around the camp! I have loved hearing all your stories and seeing glimpses of your work and fun. Continue to keep up the work and enjoy the time left on the beautiful island!
ReplyDeleteP.s. Landon, I am glad I am not the only one who had an unfortunate encounter with a sea creature!
